Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League will have to wait until the next Formula 1 Grand Prix to see Lando Norris start in pole position. In qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, Norris surpassed Max Verstappen to secure his second pole position in F1. He described it as the best lap of his career so far. Joining them at the front of the grid are Lewis Hamilton and George Russell from Mercedes, as well as Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz from Ferrari. The surprising seventh-place finisher is Pierre Gasly from Alpine, ahead of his teammate Esteban Ocon. Sergio Perez secured the eighth position but will be penalized with three grid places due to an incident in the Canadian GP. This penalty promotes Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso one position each. Although Logan Sargeant also has a grid penalty, it will not affect his starting position as he qualified in 20th place.
