Denny Hamlin expresses his opinions on Kyle Busch’s poor performance. Hamlin and Busch, both NASCAR Cup Series champions, were teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing. However, in 2022, Hamlin made the decision to leave and join Richard Childress Racing in hopes of restoring the team’s former glory. Initially, Hamlin had a promising start with Team No:8, securing three wins in the first half of 2023. Unfortunately, his performance took a significant downturn and he has yet to recover.
Throughout the 2024 season, Busch has been striving for redemption but has faced numerous setbacks due to unfortunate incidents and RCR’s inability to provide competitive cars. Hamlin, speaking on his podcast, addressed Busch’s poor performance and offered his perspective on the matter. He emphasized that luck has played a significant role in Busch’s string of poor results. While acknowledging that luck is often cited in the sport, Hamlin believes that Busch has been involved in several incidents this season that can be attributed to misfortunes rather than his own mistakes.
Before attributing the poor results to bad luck, Hamlin also shared his opinion on the incidents themselves. He believes that Busch is a better driver than his current results suggest and that his team is also capable of achieving better positions.
Busch and his team are giving their all to regain their winning form in the remaining nine races of the regular season. Their goal is to secure a spot in the playoffs while also maintaining their streak of consecutive wins. It will be intriguing to see how long it will take for Team No:8 to secure a victory.
