BMW Motorrad has unveiled the update of its popular F 900 R for 2025, highlighting improvements in technology, ergonomics, and design. This new version reaffirms the German brand’s commitment to offering a dynamic and safe riding experience while meeting the demanding Euro 5+ emission standards.
Refined Power and Performance
At the heart of the new F 900 R is the 895cc parallel-twin engine producing 105 hp (77 kW), ensuring an energetic ride. Thanks to Euro 5+ homologation, this engine features an optimized torque curve, offering agile riding in any scenario.
The new standard Dynamic riding mode adjusts the bike for a more sporty response. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine torque control are now standard equipment, increasing safety by preventing slipping or loss of traction during sudden acceleration or deceleration.
For lovers of the characteristic sport bike sound, BMW has introduced an optional sports silencer, developed in collaboration with Akrapovič, which not only improves engine sound but also reduces the bike’s weight by 1.2 kg.
Chassis and Suspension Improvements
The new F 900 R features a front suspension with 43mm upside-down forks, now with compression, rebound, and preload adjustment, allowing customization for different riding styles. The new 17-inch cast aluminum wheels are about 1.8 kg lighter, contributing to a total weight reduction of 3 kg compared to the previous version.
In terms of braking, BMW has raised safety standards with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, which enables assisted braking in curves, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), which prevents unintentional acceleration during emergency braking.
Modernized Design and Ergonomics
The new F 900 R reflects a more sporty approach in design and ergonomics. The ergonomic triangle has been redefined with adjustments to the handlebar position, footpegs, and foot levers, providing a more aggressive riding posture closer to the front wheel.
Visually, the highlight goes to the body-colored lateral headlight details and the new slimmer rear design with integrated brake lights and turn signals. The color palette includes three options: Snapper Rocks Blue metallic, Blackstorm metallic, and the sporty Lightwhite with Racingblue metallic.
Exclusive Equipment and Accessories
BMW Motorrad reinforces F 900 R customization with a range of new genuine accessories, including:
- Akrapovič sports silencer;
- Machined footpegs and levers;
- Axle protectors;
- Soft locking cases;
- Engine spoiler and passenger seat cover in new colors.
Additionally, a new sports seat option is available, with an extra 25 mm in height, for riders seeking greater comfort and style.
