The Chinese brand CFMOTO continues to surprise and consolidate its position in the European market, challenging competition with an unbeatable combination of competitive prices and superior performance. A recent example is the 450MT model, which has been gaining ground against its established rivals. Now, the company plays a new trump card by revealing the 209 hp V4 engine and a V.04 Master of Speed super bike concept during the EICMA 2024 Show in Milan.
Impressive Technical Data
Little was revealed about the new engine and the motorcycle it will power, but the disclosed numbers are impressive. This 90-degree block promises 209.2 hp at 14,500 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 12,500 rpm. Weighing only 61.5 kg (dry), it’s just 7.1 kg heavier than the V2 engine that powers Ducati’s Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 models. This performance puts CFMOTO’s engine in a position to directly compete with European and Japanese superbike giants.
The engine also features a counter-rotating crankshaft, technology derived from MotoGP, which reduces the gyroscopic effects of the assembly. In practice, this solution increases agility and facilitates quick direction changes, resulting in better lap times. At EICMA, the engine was displayed in a transparent case, with cross-sections revealing some details of its internal workings.
Bold Design and Aerodynamic Solutions
Alongside the engine, a superbike concept model was displayed which, although still far from the final production version, reveals the brand’s stylistic direction. Inspired by modern sports bike trends, the V.04 features generous front wings to ensure stability at high speeds, although these are likely to be reduced in future production models.
Other details include aggressive fairings with LED lighting pattern, a single seat, and lower aerodynamic elements that could be adjusted to avoid ground clearance issues. At the rear, dual Akrapovič exhausts stand out, suggesting a partnership with the prestigious Slovenian brand.
The V.04’s design forces the rider into a forward-leaning position toward the cockpit, with an elevated seat and a clear focus on track performance.
Although the final version is still distant, the EICMA presentation confirms CFMOTO’s ambitions to challenge established brands, offering a powerful and innovative alternative. If the engine and V.04 superbike manage to maintain the promised standards, the European market might soon have a new heavyweight competitor.
