As known, Japanese MotoGP manufacturers have access to the most development concessions. And Yamaha will once again make use of them by testing in Portimão after the Portuguese GP.
Journalist Simon Patterson reports that the Iwata manufacturer will stay at the Algarve circuit next Monday for a day of testing right after the second round of the season.
Per rule, regular riders Álex Rins and Fabio Quartararo can participate in this private test, as well as test rider Cal Crutchlow.
This is an ideal time for Yamaha to test: it’s on a circuit that has just hosted a GP, and there’s a three-week gap until the next race, the Americas GP between April 12 and 14.
