Honda continues to work hard to improve its bike but according to Johann Zarco the direction it seems to be taking is not the most correct and once again the LCR rider showed his dissatisfaction with the modifications presented in the tests in Barcelona. However, information – good and bad means more data – and that was a positive thing.
Zarco tested a new frame on his RC213V with a slightly different distribution and it didn’t deserve the rider’s approval: ‘I believe it took away some of the positive points. It didn’t improve our weaknesses and that means something. I’m not stressing about it because we’re not going much slower, because we’re still slower than the Ducatis, but the next steps need to be an improvement in lap times.’
The Frenchman also explained that the positive point, in his opinion, was the possibility of working on himself: ‘For me it was a positive day because I did very good laps, very good laps and I had good feelings, just working on myself and what We tested in different areas of the bike, it gave good feedback, it was a lot of important information that will be studied during the winter.’
And he concluded, with certainty: ‘I would say that it is not a new project but the changes they made were not positive for the rider’.
