Doing better than in 2023 will be challenging for Ducati, but the manufacturer has not hesitated to update the Desmosedici GP for this year. Francesco Bagnaia believes that the work done will result in improvements to a bike that was already at a high level.
Regarding the improvements made to the bike, the Italian stated in a press conference: ‘I think last year’s bike was almost perfect as a bike, but in some areas was very difficult. I struggled a lot in some Fridays last year. I think the biggest improvement was on some areas which both of us were asking – because our riding styles match quite well’.
Despite ensuring that he had encouraging feelings at the Valencia test, Bagnaia prefers to wait for the tests in Malaysia to draw more conclusions: ‘In Valencia, that isn’t a track where you feel a lot of power, I was feeling something. So I think the improvement is good, but we have to try better in Malaysia because Valencia was two days after the title and the time was not the best. So I think in Malyasia will be more interesting to try everything and have a base to start’.
