Aprilia currently has at least one spot open in MotoGP for 2024 following Aleix Espargaró’s announcement of his retirement. The Spanish rider suggested that Marco Bezzecchi could be his successor.
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider was asked about his rival’s opinion and commented: ‘Of course it’s fantastic to be mentioned in a project like that. First of all, because my ambition as every the MotoGP riders is to become a factory rider’.
However, Bezzecchi is aware that he is not in his best form and is focused mainly on improving, even though he keeps an eye on possible future opportunities:
– At the moment unfortunatly I’m not performing at my best, so my full focus is upon to try to be fast and try to be competitive, and work in the best way that I can. But of course I’m trying to look around, I’m trying to see all the possibilities that I have to see for my future. I’m happy that Aleix mentions my name, but we will see.
