Ducati has been the dominating force in MotoGP World Championship in recent years, and proof of this are the three consecutive titles won (riders’ and others) in recent years. Thus, the manufacturer establishes itself as number one and is undoubtedly the reference, as Fabiano Sterlacchini mentioned.
The Italian, who recently took on the role of Aprilia’s new technical director, recalled in a conversation with Manuel Pecino and quoted by Motosan, how Gigi Dall’Igna’s team is the one everyone has been looking at: ‘Having four Ducati bikes in the top positions demonstrates that they are the reference’.
And regarding the distance between the Noale team and Ducati, the manager stated: ‘It’s difficult to measure it, comparisons should be made over a long time, taking into account rider adaptation and bike preparation, before making comparisons. I think in this sport there isn’t just one aspect to take care of, you need to work on everything; more horsepower, more grip, more stability… the path that Ducati took lasted many years in search of perfection’.
And he concluded, explaining that the main thing is focusing on themselves: ‘We, in turn, have to continue with our development while trying to catch them’.
