After revealing that he believes Aprilia has a ‘great opportunity’ to count on Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi, given that they come from Ducati and have winning bikes, Fabiano Sterlacchini doesn’t want to take his feet off the ground and says there’s a long way to go.
The new technical director of the Noale manufacturer explained to Manuel Pecino, quoted by Motosan, that there is a journey, a path that has to be taken both with the riders and with the bike itself: ‘It’s a path in which we try to achieve perfection in all systems. It doesn’t just mean improving the technical aspect of the bike, but also how to manage the rider and get him to perform during the race weekend’.
Sterlacchini then explained how he sees the situation: ‘My favorite aphorism to explain the situation is «wanting to align the planets». There’s engine braking, traction control, exiting corners… so it’s a continuous process’.
The Italian explained that although the bike is competitive, it’s still not good enough: ‘We’re the third part [of this process] because Aprilia’s performance is already quite good, but obviously it’s still not good enough as it is. We’re all here to achieve that goal’.
