Goodbye KTM, a break period, and hello Aprilia. Fabiano Sterlacchini also had his debut with the Noale manufacturer at the Barcelona MotoGP tests, and in his first contact, he was happy with what he did and how everyone worked.
The team’s new technical director said that Tuesday was good for him and for the new rider duo, consisting of Jorge Martín (ex-Pramac Racing) and Marco Bezzecchi (ex-VR46 Racing Team), as quoted by Motosan: ‘It was a very positive day. It was the first contact with the team and, as they usually say, the riders’ feelings were very good’.
Regarding the riders, the Italian then explained that extra work is naturally needed, but in general terms, he was happy with what he saw: ‘Obviously, we’ll need to review the riders’ conclusions and frame them considering the circuit layout and grip level. We know Barcelona is a special track in this sense, but we’re reasonably satisfied’.
And there were already positive notes to take away, from the bike’s behavior to how, in this case, Martín handles the RS-GP:
– Some aspects were observed. The bike has some movement coming out of corners, it’s a stability issue, an aspect that the riders highlighted. On the positive side, Jorge Martín already returned to lean angles suitable for his riding style in a reasonably short time, and this denotes the riders’ good feelings from their first approach.
