In doing so, he has set the Rockies’ record for most home runs in a single season by a catcher, solidifying his status as a key player for the team.

Goodman’s breakout has caught the attention of baseball analysts, including Mark DeRosa and Sean Casey from MLB Network. As they analyzed Goodman’s swing, they drew a striking parallel to Josh Donaldson, the 2015 AL MVP who had a breakout season with the Toronto Blue Jays, hitting 41 home runs and driving in 123 runs with a .297/.371/.568 batting line.

DeRosa remarked, “I see a swing that’s nasty. Does a lot of things right.” He encouraged viewers to watch Goodman’s technique, suggesting that it evokes memories of other great hitters. Without missing a beat, Casey responded, “Josh Donaldson,” highlighting the swift connection between Goodman’s style and that of the former MVP.

Recently, Goodman hit his 30th home run of the season, a milestone that places him among the top catchers in the league, trailing only Cal Raleigh in home runs.
