The Chicago Cubs faced a stark reality in Game 2 of the National League Division Series on Monday night, succumbing to the Milwaukee Brewers with a final score of 7-3. The turning points that marked this loss spotlighted both the Cubs’ missed opportunities and the Brewers’ relentless offensive prowess.

A Promising Start for the Cubs

The game began with a spark of hope for Chicago as Seiya Suzuki launched a home run in the top of the first inning, giving the Cubs an early three-run cushion. Shota Imanaga, the Cubs’ starting pitcher, was expected to build upon this lead. He started strong, confidently striking out both Jackson Chourio and Brice Turang with impressive fastballs.
