Alfredo Duno shines with three towering home runs in Arizona Fall League finale

The Arizona Fall League wrapped up its season on Friday, November 14, with a thrilling championship game where the Surprise Saguaros triumphed over the Peoria Javelinas, finishing with a score of 9-4. Amidst the excitement, one player stood out, capturing the spotlight and accolades.

Duno’s Explosive Performance

Alfredo Duno, a catcher and the second-ranked prospect in the Cincinnati Reds organization, capped off the season in spectacular fashion, earning the title of Hitter of the Week for the final stretch of the Arizona Fall League. At just 19 years old, Duno was among the league’s youngest players, yet he displayed maturity and talent that belied his age. His timely surge helped propel the Javelinas to the championship game, proving to be a key factor in their playoff run.

In a standout semi-final performance on Thursday, Duno lit up the field with three home runs, two of which soared over 450 feet. His powerful batting was a defining moment of the playoffs, showcasing his potential as a future star.

Impressive Playoff Statistics

Throughout the Fall League playoffs, Duno posted an impressive slash line of .308/.357/.1.231, leading all players with four home runs, nine RBIs, and 16 total bases. His offensive prowess was complemented by his defensive skills, as he successfully threw out two runners attempting to steal. This all-around performance solidified his status as a dynamic player to watch.

Looking Ahead to the Future

Duno’s achievements in the Arizona Fall League mark him as a rising star in the Reds’ organization. He is projected to begin the 2026 season with the High-A Dayton Dragons, where he will continue to develop his skills. His performance in the Florida State League earlier this year was equally remarkable, as he led the league in on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, and home runs.

With his recent accolades and impressive stats, Alfredo Duno has not only made a name for himself in the Arizona Fall League but has also set the stage for a promising future in professional baseball. The baseball world will be watching closely as this young talent continues to evolve.
