Toyota has announced the final edition of the current GR Supra, which will soon leave the production line, and before that happens, the Japanese brand has introduced the GR Supra A90 Final Edition.
This final edition of the GR Supra A90 will be limited to 300 units destined for Japan and Europe and features a set of improvements, including a more powerful engine.
Toyota has decided to enhance the 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine sourced from BMW, which now delivers a power output of 429 hp and a maximum torque of 570 Nm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an exclusive six-speed manual transmission.
The figures for this GR Supra A90 Final Edition represent an increase of 94 hp and 70 Nm compared to the “normal” version of the GR Supra. To achieve this, Toyota’s engineers refined the engine control unit, installed a low-pressure catalyst, revised the air intake, and updated the cooling system, as well as the active differential on the rear axle.
Additionally, Toyota engineers installed a deflector plate in the engine oil pan to prevent uneven distribution during high-speed turns and improved the sound of the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system.
To handle all the extra power of this GR Supra A90 Final Edition, Toyota equipped the limited edition sports car with KW suspension featuring adjustable damping, adjusted the electric steering, and outfitted the model with a Brembo braking system that includes high-friction brake pads in the front and perforated floating discs on all four wheels, hidden behind 19’’ alloy wheels in the front and 20’’ in the rear, which are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Visually, the exterior of this GR Supra Final Edition features a matte black body color and utilizes enhanced aerodynamics developed in a wind tunnel, which includes a front spoiler and a carbon fiber hood with air intakes, as well as a rear wing shaped like a swan’s neck.
The interior is characterized by red details, highlighting the Recaro bucket seats, with the driver’s seat in red that complements the passenger seat in black, red seat belts, carbon fiber front protection plates, and Alcantara finishes, including a sporty steering wheel focused on the driver that emphasizes the exclusivity of this limited edition model.
