The future of American land yachts looks bleak as the industry shifts towards a battery-electric future dominated by crossovers and SUVs. However, many of us still long for the days of powerful V8 motors and luxurious long hoods, even if it means paying a hefty price tag.
Rendering artists like Vburlapp share this sentiment, as evidenced by their latest creation: a revival of the Chrysler Imperial. This virtual concept, unveiled recently on the internet, bears little resemblance to its iconic predecessors or the unrealized 2006 concept car.
The digital rendering showcases a classic silhouette with two doors, frameless side windows, and an elegant roofline. Its rear end is characterized by muscular shoulders, sleek LED taillights, and a clean bumper design adorned with the Chrysler logo. The artist opted for traditional side mirrors instead of cameras and gave the car a striking black exterior finish, complemented by a beige leather interior and chrome-finished large alloys.
While we would have loved to see the front fascia and interior of this virtual ride, the artist chose to keep us guessing. Nevertheless, we can imagine that they would have been just as impressive as the muscular and clean back end.
It’s worth noting that Chrysler currently has no plans to reenter the land yacht segment, as their focus lies on electric vehicles and SUVs. However, we can only hope that someone at the Stellantis-owned brand stumbles upon this rendering and decides to defy the current trend, bringing back the glory of land yachts. This sentiment extends to other American automakers as well, as these magnificent rides should not fade away. So, if a brand-new Chrysler Imperial resembling this virtual concept were to become a reality, would you be tempted to make it yours?
