Leading the McLaren pack at the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the Senna Sempre livery, a tribute to the late Ayrton Senna. This special model, signed by MSO, features vibrant colors that represent Senna’s vibrant personality and outlook on life. It will be showcased at the McLaren House, under the spotlight.
While some McLarens will be on display at the McLaren House, others will take to the hill for a thrilling drive. One of the highlights will be the Solus GT, which will be driven by Mika Hakkinen on Saturday. This particular Solus GT is one of 25 customer cars and has a bespoke commission. Its paint matches the MP4/13 that Hakkinen drove in 1998.
McLaren is also celebrating 50 years since its first F1 World Championship victories. In 1974, Emerson Fittipaldi drove the McLaren M23 to win the World Driver’s and Constructor’s titles. Fittipaldi will return to the racer’s wheel at Goodwood, and the iconic 1974 Indy 500 winner M16C/D will be showcased in the McLaren Garage in the F1 paddock.
Another exciting model making its UK dynamic debut at Goodwood FoS is the Artura Spider. This model, part of McLaren’s Sports Series, features an open-top design. It weighs 3,252 pounds, slightly heavier than the coupe due to the folding hardtop. However, it still delivers impressive performance with a hybrid powertrain producing 690 horsepower and 531 pound-foot of torque. It can reach a top speed of 205 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds.
Joining the Artura Spider on the Goodwood Hill will be the 750S, McLaren’s latest addition to their lineup. It is powered by an upgraded 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 740 horsepower and 590 pound-foot of torque. With its improved performance, the 750S can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 206 mph. McLaren will also bring other iconic models like the GTS, Senna, and P1 to the event.
Overall, McLaren’s presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed promises to be an exhilarating experience for car enthusiasts and fans of the brand.
