Dino Iozzo secured the final pole position of the European Stock Championship season this Tuesday at the Circuito do Estoril.
The qualifying session was fiercely contested, with several lead changes, but Iozzo ultimately prevailed as the only rider to clock a lap in the 1m40s range (1m40.853s). The South African from IUM Motorsports beat Archie Bob McDonald (MRE Talent) by 0.380s.
Championship leader Mario Mayor (GV Tamoil Racing) took third place, just 0.487s off the top and with only three-thousandths of a second ahead of teammate Lorenzo Dalla Porta — one of the riders who could still deny him the title.
The other contender is Demis Mihaila (MDR Competición), who qualified sixth, completing the second row behind Andy Verdoïa (Frando Racing VHC Team).
