The Chinese multinational known so far for its smartphones, Xiaomi, may be preparing to launch an SUV in the first quarter of 2025.
According to Chinese media, the new model, currently known internally as the MX11, is expected to be officially unveiled in March of next year.
Xiaomi has not yet revealed any images of the new model, but specialized Chinese automotive media has provided images of test models, which suggest a Coupe SUV design, clearly inspired by the SU7, Xiaomi’s first model.
Additionally, CarsNewsChina reports that the new model is expected to feature an interior with a design distinct from the SU7, particularly in terms of the central console.
At the same time that it is developing the new model set to be revealed in 2025, Xiaomi remains focused on completing the expansion of its factory, which is expected to happen next summer. The factory expansion aims to increase production as Xiaomi recently revealed that it is unable to meet the demand for the SU7, which could cause a delay in the launch of the new SUV.
It is worth noting that the SU7, equipped with electric motors developed in-house by Xiaomi, is available only in the Chinese market, with two versions: the entry-level version features an electric motor installed on the rear axle, producing 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque, powered by a 73.6 kWh battery. This configuration allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds and reach a top speed of 210 km/h, with a range of 628 km to 668 km in the CLTC cycle.
