Ed Sheeran Reacts to Awkward Interview Moment
Ed Sheeran has addressed the unexpected moment he interrupted Ruben Amorim’s post-match interview following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich on Sunday. Taking to Instagram Stories, Sheeran apologized for the incident, explaining that he hadn’t realized Amorim was mid-interview.
“I apologize if I offended Amorim last night. I didn’t realize he was being interviewed; I just popped in to say ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’ to Jamie. Obviously, I feel like a bit of an idiot, but life goes on. Great game, though—congratulations to everyone involved,” Sheeran wrote.
The Incident
Amorim, making his debut as Manchester United’s head coach, was conducting a flash interview when Sheeran, a co-owner of Ipswich Town, made his unexpected appearance. Amorim later confirmed he wasn’t pleased with the interruption, adding to the awkwardness of the moment.
Despite the mix-up, Sheeran’s apology seemed sincere, and his lighthearted tone aimed to defuse any lingering tension.
