The Honda CL500 is one of several models from the Japanese manufacturer updated for 2025. Compatible with A2 riding licence, it is inspired by the original CL models of the 1960s and 1970s but comes with modern equipment.
Under the concept «Express Yourself», it is a motorcycle aimed at a young audience and daily commuting, while still being competent for longer trips and even some light off-road excursions.
It features a twin-cylinder engine with a displacement of 471 cubic centimeters, delivering 34.3 kW of power (around 46 hp) and 43.4 Nm of torque. The ECU has been revised, and an OBD2-2 sensor has been included, ensuring the engine now complies with Euro 5+ emission standards. The six-speed gearbox comes with an assist/slipper clutch.
The main steel tubular trellis frame is new, with a loop-shaped rear subframe. With a scrambler style, the Honda CL500 is equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and two long-travel rear shock absorbers adjustable in preload, working with a swingarm.
In terms of brakes, the front wheel features a floating disc and a two-piston caliper, while the rear has a disc and a single-piston caliper. ABS is included and optimized so the bike can be used not only on asphalt but also on dirt tracks. The wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, fitted with Dunlop Mixtours tyres.
The seat has a height of 790 millimeters, with a narrow middle section, allowing easy ground reach. The handlebars are in a high position with off-road grips, and the footpegs are made of steel. The fuel tank, with a capacity of 12 liters, has protective pads that serve as contact points for the legs.
The lighting is fully LED, and the instrument panel is LCD. There is an emergency stop system that activates the rear turn indicators as warning lights in the event of sudden and strong braking. The Honda CL500 has two new colors for 2025: Pearl Dusk Yellow and Mat Fresco Brown. Mat Laurel Green Metallic and Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic are also available.
