The U.S. Navy has confirmed the loss of two exceptional aviators, Lt. Cmdr. Lyndsay “Miley” Evans and Lt. Serena “Dug” Wileman, following the tragic crash of their EA-18G Growler near Mount Rainier on Oct. 15, 2024. Both women were part of the elite VAQ-130 “Zappers” squadron, returning from a nine-month deployment aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, where they distinguished themselves in numerous combat missions over Yemen.
Evans, a decorated Growler Tactics Instructor, and Wileman, a rising star known for her infectious positivity and leadership, exemplified dedication, courage, and innovation in Naval Aviation.
