As Election Day nears, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has turned down another major media interview—this time with Bloomberg News, a high-profile outlet founded by former New York Mayor and Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg. This latest refusal joins a list that reportedly includes recent declines for sit-downs with CNBC and Time Magazine.
The news came as former President Donald Trump, her rival in the race, was engaging with Bloomberg’s Editor-In-Chief, John Micklethwait, at a Chicago town hall. In the Bloomberg interview, Trump discussed his aggressive tariff plans, his views on U.S. relations with Russia, and his plans for the economy.
Harris’s campaign has not commented on its declining of Bloomberg News’ interview offer, but some political analysts say it reflects a calculated approach to media engagements as her team strategizes her messaging ahead of Election Day.
