Omarosa Manigault Newman, former Trump aide and reality TV star, has endorsed Kamala Harris in a pointed statement, saying she believes the Vice President will “usher in fresh energy” and is the leader the country needs. Known for her outspoken role on The Apprentice and later in the Trump administration, Omarosa shared with Variety her reasons for supporting Harris, claiming Donald Trump’s “cognitive decline” and inability to accept defeat make him unfit for office.
“Anyone observing Donald Trump from 2016 to now sees what’s happening—he has limited vocabulary, he rambles, and he pulls things out of nowhere,” she remarked, doubling down on her previous claims of Trump’s cognitive issues. Reflecting on Trump’s animosity toward women of color, Omarosa said, “To lose to a woman of color would be devastating to his ego.”
The endorsement is particularly bold given her past with Trump, who later claimed he hired her as an “experiment” and dismissed her due to unpopularity among colleagues. After her firing, she released recordings of her exit, resulting in a legal battle that Omarosa won, receiving $1.3 million in legal fees. Now, unphased by Trump’s political resurgence, she insists, “I’m not intimidated by him.”
Describing Trump as having “opted for the dark side,” she unequivocally stated, “I’m 100% endorsing Kamala Harris for President.” The former political aide, now a law student, expressed hope that Harris’s leadership would inspire a new generation of diverse voices in American politics, adding, “Politics is a young woman’s game.”
