With the Sprint races, MotoGP faced a new adaptation challenge for the riders in 2023. It’s a shorter race where it’s possible to maintain an attacking posture for a longer period, without as many issues regarding tire wear.
Jorge Martín, who won nine out of the 19 Sprint races, told the championship’s official website that performance is the big difference in the Saturday races:
– Mentally is really similar, but in terms of performance it’s quite different. We push quite a lot, it’s impossible that we can keep the pace of the Sprint for Sunday.
