If there is any evidence needed to support claims that Alex Bowman is one of the most skilled drivers in the field, just look at the legendary drivers he has replaced at Hendrick Motorsports. He made his debut filling in for another driver in the No. 88 Chevy, and later took over the No. 48 team after the seven-time champion’s retirement.
Alex Bowman recently revealed the paint scheme for his car for the upcoming Darlington Throwback weekend, and in doing so, expressed his admiration for his former teammate, Jimmie Johnson. Bowman stated that Johnson was not only a great driver, but also a great person. He was grateful for the opportunity to learn from someone with such strong work ethic and mentoring skills, as it made him a better driver and person.
Discussing his experience watching Johnson’s races in the Lowe’s car, Bowman admitted that he didn’t have any particularly memorable moments. This was because as a child, he was a fan of another team and was more focused on their performances.
The 2024 season has been challenging for Alex Bowman, as he has struggled to consistently achieve the desired results. However, he remains hopeful that he can end his winless streak, which has now lasted for over two years, either in the upcoming race in Kansas or the following week in Darlington.
