Enea Bastianini finished the Le Mans GP in fourth position. The Italian driver was unable to keep pace with his rivals in the fight for the podium and ended up 13 points behind his teammate Francesco Bagnaia in the championship.
In his debrief, the Italian driver expressed his frustration with the race and talked about his feelings at the Le Mans GP.
– I’m frustrated, because for me today it was important to win the race because I had the pace to do it. I had the long lap and tried to get close again, but it was impossible. I think I wasted a lot of time with the long lap. We tried new solutions and one of them was very good for me. I was very fast with the tires and I was confident for the race and in the end I was fast, but a lot of mistakes during this weekend gave me nothing, two fourth places.
Asked about the possibility of leaving the factory team at the end of the year after rumors of Jorge Martín or Marc Márquez joining, Enea replied: ‘The feeling is strange because I have the speed, but sometimes you have to be lucky and right now it’s not happening to me, I think Ducati sees my potential, but they know what Jorge is doing so far, he’s a very fast rider and he won the race.’
