Tyreek Hill Skips Practice but Set to Face Jets

The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for their highly anticipated Monday night clash against the New York Jets, but they will be without one of their standout players during final preparations. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill, known for his explosive playmaking ability, missed Saturday’s practice due to personal reasons. Fortunately for Dolphins fans, his absence is not expected to hinder his participation in the game at Hard Rock Stadium.

Hill recently showcased his skills with a solid performance against the Buffalo Bills, where he caught five passes and scored his first touchdown of the season. His ability to stretch the field and create mismatches will be crucial as the Dolphins aim to secure a victory against their division rivals.

Injury Updates and Other Practice Notes

Aside from Hill’s absence, the Dolphins also reported a couple of other injuries impacting their roster. Cornerbacks Storm Duck and Jason Marshall Jr. were both sidelined during practice as they recover from ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively. Unfortunately, neither player is anticipated to take the field against the Jets.

Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. was spotted limping during the media-accessible portion of practice, although he has not appeared on the injury report this week. His condition will need monitoring as the game approaches.

On a more positive note, tight end Darren Waller practiced again, inching closer to his debut with the Dolphins. Head coach Mike McDaniel expressed confidence in Waller’s readiness, stating, “He looks ready, he feels ready. There’s gonna be those game-day jitters that everyone loves as a player. I’m sure he’ll be very fired up to get the first rep out of the way.” The Dolphins are eager to see what Waller can bring to their offense.

Jets Prepare for Fields’ Return

On the Jets’ side, head coach Aaron Glenn confirmed that quarterback Justin Fields has been cleared to return after missing last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a concussion. Fields is set to start against Miami, marking his second career start against the Dolphins. In their prior matchup in 2022, he made a significant impact, rushing for 178 yards and throwing three touchdowns during a high-scoring affair that ultimately saw the Dolphins triumph 35-32 at Soldier Field.

As both teams finalize their game plans, all eyes will be on Hill’s status and the potential impact of Fields’ return as the Dolphins look to capitalize on their home-field advantage.
