Packers Activate Key Players for Showdown Against the Browns
In a pivotal matchup, the Green Bay Packers are set to welcome back tight end Tucker Kraft and right tackle Zach Tom as they prepare to face off against the Cleveland Browns. Both players were deemed questionable leading up to the game, but recent updates indicate they will be taking the field.
Tucker Kraft and Zach Tom Make the Cut
Kraft, who has been making waves since his rookie season, celebrated a touchdown last week against the Washington Commanders, showcasing his growing importance within the team’s offense. His knee injury sustained during Thursday’s practice sparked concern, but it was later confirmed to be a minor tweak. Despite not participating in Friday’s practice, Kraft was seen pulling a heavy sled during warm-ups, signaling his readiness to contribute.
Zach Tom, who faced an oblique injury while attempting to aid quarterback Jordan Love during a previous game, also returns to bolster an offensive line that has faced its share of challenges. After missing last week’s game against the Commanders and participating minimally in practice, Tom’s activation is a welcome relief for the Packers.
Browns’ Injury Update
For the Browns, veteran left guard Joel Bitonio will be active despite dealing with a back issue. In contrast, former All-Pro right tackle Jack Conklin will miss the game due to an elbow injury. Cornelius Lucas, who has struggled to maintain solid protection in limited game time, will step in as his replacement.
Injury Report and Roster Moves
The Packers’ injury report has notably shrunk, with only three players listed on the final version. However, wide receiver Jayden Reed has been ruled out due to collarbone and foot injuries, leading to his placement on injured reserve. Surprisingly, the team opted not to fill Reed’s roster spot, leaving them with a 51-man roster and a shorter list of inactives.
The current inactives for the Packers include cornerback Kamal Hadden, offensive lineman Donovan Jennings, and defensive lineman Warren Brinson. As the Packers gear up for what promises to be a competitive game, the return of Kraft and Tom could prove pivotal in their quest for victory against the Browns.
