Knicks Trim Roster as Pate and Warren Head to G League

The New York Knicks made headlines on a busy transaction day, announcing the waiving of two young players, Dink Pate and Bryson Warren. This move comes as the team finalizes its roster in preparation for the upcoming training camp.

Roster Moves and Future Prospects

Pate and Warren were part of the Knicks’ non-guaranteed contingent and had yet to secure their spots on the final roster. Despite their release, both players are expected to continue their development with the Knicks’ G League affiliate in Westchester. The G League team recently acquired the returning player rights for Pate and Warren from their previous teams in Mexico City and Sioux Falls, respectively.

Pate showcased his skills during the Summer League in Las Vegas, where he garnered attention for his performance. In contrast, Warren represented the Miami Heat, providing him with valuable experience as he seeks to make his mark in professional basketball.

Training Camp Landscape

With the departures of Pate and Warren, the Knicks’ roster now shifts focus to those vying for spots in training camp. Stefan Bondy from the New York Post provided insights into the current state of the roster, highlighting players with guaranteed contracts and those still fighting for their NBA futures.

The list of training camp invites is as follows:

Guaranteed Contracts
– OG Anunoby
– Mikal Bridges
– Jalen Brunson
– Jordan Clarkson
– Pacome Dadiet

Nonguaranteed Contracts
– Malcolm Brogdon
– Mohamed Diawara
– Tosan Evbuomwan

As the Knicks prepare for training camp, the competition will be fierce. Each player understands the significance of this opportunity, knowing that their performances could determine their roles on the team as the season approaches.
