Knicks Enhance Training Camp Roster with New Additions

The New York Knicks are making strategic moves as they build their training camp roster, announcing the signing of five players in preparation for their upcoming season.

New Faces in the Lineup

Among the latest signings are Tosan Evbuomwan, Garrison Mathews, Dink Pate, and Bryson Warren, all of whom have inked Exhibit 10 contracts. These one-year, league-minimum deals come with a slight bonus for players who, if not selected for the NBA roster, spend time with the team’s G League affiliate. Additionally, the Knicks have secured former Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon on an Exhibit 9 deal, which provides extra protection for his non-guaranteed contract—a wise move considering Brogdon’s recent injury challenges.

Highlighting Dink Pate

The most intriguing addition is undoubtedly Dink Pate, a teenage standout who has already captured attention during his time with the Knicks’ Summer League squad. At just 19 years old, Pate showcased his talents while playing for the G League Ignite, averaging 9.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, and impressively shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc. His Summer League performance culminated in a memorable double-double, where he scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Washington’s prospects, leaving fans and scouts eager to see what he can bring to the Knicks.

Strategic Moves for the Future

The Knicks also have a vision for their G League affiliate in Westchester, as they have previously secured the returning player rights for both Pate and Warren, while adding Evbuomwan after his tenure with the Nets’ system. This strategic depth in talent reflects the Knicks’ commitment to developing young players alongside seasoned veterans like Brogdon, who brings experience and skill to the table.

As the team gears up for training camp in Tarrytown, the combination of emerging talent and established players sets the stage for an exciting season ahead. The Knicks are clearly focused on building a competitive roster, blending youth and experience to make a statement in the league.
