Nets Add Height with David Muoka Signing

The Brooklyn Nets have made a noteworthy addition to their roster, signing free agent center David Muoka on Monday. While the team has chosen not to disclose the specific terms of the contract, it is widely believed that it will be an Exhibit 10 training camp deal, allowing the team flexibility as they finalize their roster.

Muoka’s College and G League Journey

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-11, Muoka brings significant size and potential to the Nets. His basketball journey began in college, where he spent two seasons at Lamar University before transferring to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) for an additional two years. After his collegiate career, Muoka took the next step by joining the Long Island Nets for the 2023-24 season.

During his time with Long Island, Muoka showcased his skills in 33 games, where he averaged 4.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. His efficiency was evident as he shot an impressive 56.9 percent from the field, all while averaging 15.5 minutes of playtime. This performance not only highlights his potential but also indicates a promising trajectory as he transitions to the NBA landscape.

Summer League Performances

Muoka’s recent stint with the Nets in Summer League further solidified his standing. His ability to contribute on both ends of the floor caught the attention of coaches and analysts alike. With each game, Muoka demonstrated his defensive prowess and offensive capabilities, making a strong case for his place on the roster as the Nets prepare for the upcoming season.

As the Nets look to enhance their lineup, Muoka’s signing may be a strategic move to bolster their frontcourt depth. With a blend of size and skill, he has the potential to carve out a niche for himself within the team’s framework. The upcoming training camp will be crucial for Muoka as he aims to secure a permanent spot on the Nets’ roster.
