Nolan Arenado Poised for Cardinals Comeback Against Reds

Nolan Arenado is set to make his much-anticipated return to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night, potentially stepping back into the starting lineup against the Cincinnati Reds. The veteran third baseman has been sidelined since August 1 due to a right shoulder strain, but he has been working diligently to regain his form.

After spending the last two games with Double-A Springfield on a rehab assignment, Arenado is ready to rejoin the big league squad. According to manager Oli Marmol, the 34-year-old will take Sunday as a recovery day while making his way back to St. Louis.

The Cardinals, currently holding a record of 72-77, are wrapping up their series against the Milwaukee Brewers today at 2:10 p.m. ET. Arenado’s return comes at a critical juncture for the team as they look to make a push in the final stretch of the season.

His presence in the lineup is expected to provide a significant boost, both offensively and defensively, as the Cardinals aim to turn the tide in their favor. With a strong performance in his rehab games, Arenado is eager to contribute once again to his team’s efforts.
