Jo Adell Makes Heartfelt $5K Donation for Injured Angels Prospect Rio Foster

Angels outfielder Jo Adell has stepped up in a significant way to support his teammate, Rio Foster, who is currently facing a challenging recovery after suffering a traumatic brain injury. Foster’s injury occurred during a car accident on September 5, when he was ejected from a speeding vehicle. In an act of solidarity, Adell donated $5,000 to Foster’s GoFundMe campaign, which has already amassed over $60,000 in donations as of Friday morning.

A Personal Connection

Adell’s generosity stems from a personal connection to Foster, who had been making strides during spring training. “I remember him coming up and being a part of camp toward the end,” Adell shared. “He was having a great couple of weeks of baseball, I know that for sure.” These memories highlight the camaraderie that exists within the Angels organization, where players come together to support one another during difficult times.

The Bigger Picture of Life and Baseball

Adell articulated a poignant perspective on the incident, emphasizing that while baseball is important, the well-being of a fellow player and friend takes precedence. “Baseball is one thing, but life is something else. It was a no-brainer,” he said, reflecting on the decision to contribute. He acknowledged the extensive support Foster has received from the team, stating, “I know he’s got a lot of support, and I know all the guys have stepped and done their part.”

A Call for Prayers and Support

The outpouring of support for Foster is a testament to the bond shared among athletes. Adell concluded with a heartfelt sentiment, urging for prayers for Foster and his family: “It’s terrible to hear, but I hope he can fight back and come back healthy.” This donation not only aids in covering medical expenses but also serves as a reminder of the collective strength of the Angels community as they rally behind one of their own during this trying time.
