Rodrigo Blankenship aims for NFL comeback after UFL experience
Georgia football icon and former Indianapolis Colts kicker Rodrigo Blankenship is setting his sights on a return to the NFL. A promising talent, Blankenship entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2020, signing with the Colts. However, his journey was hindered by injuries and inconsistent performances that ultimately led to his departure from the team.
In 2022, Blankenship found a new opportunity with the Arizona Cardinals, but his tenure was short-lived as he failed to secure a spot on the roster. The following year, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for what would be his third chance in the NFL. Unfortunately, he faced another setback when he was waived after failing to make it through the final roster cuts in August.
A new chapter in the UFL
After his time with the Buccaneers, Blankenship shifted gears and spent a season in the United Football League (UFL). This stint allowed him to stay competitive and refine his skills in a different environment, as he aimed to regain his footing in professional football.
Now, with his experience in the UFL behind him, Blankenship is eager for another opportunity to showcase his talent on the NFL stage. His journey has been marked by challenges, but his determination to succeed remains strong. As he prepares for the next phase of his career, Blankenship hopes that the lessons learned during his trials will propel him to a successful return to the league he once called home.
