Channing Tindall on the move
Former Dolphins Top Pick Continues to Seek NFL Opportunity
Channing Tindall, the linebacker who once held promise as the Miami Dolphins’ top selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, is actively pursuing a return to professional football. After spending the last three seasons with the Dolphins, Tindall recently showcased his skills in tryouts with both the Arizona Cardinals and the Cleveland Browns, signaling his determination to stay in the league.
Recent Tryouts with NFL Teams
On Tuesday, Tindall participated in a workout with the Arizona Cardinals, joining a group of five linebackers vying for a chance to secure a roster spot. Among his fellow competitors was Duke Riley, another former Dolphin, alongside Trace Ford, Nick Morrow, and Antwaun Powell-Ryland. Despite their efforts, none of the linebackers were signed to the team following the tryout.
Just days prior, Tindall had also worked out for the Cleveland Browns, where he was one of ten players auditioning for the squad. This consistent effort to find a new home in the NFL reflects Tindall’s perseverance and resilience as he seeks to reinvigorate his professional career.
Performance and Role in Miami
During his time with the Dolphins, Tindall, a third-round pick in 2022, played a limited role on the field. In the 2024 season, he logged five tackles across 11 games, primarily contributing on special teams. However, he found himself buried on the depth chart, positioned as the fifth inside linebacker behind notable players like Jordyn Brooks, David Long Jr., Duke Riley, and Anthony Walker Jr. His lack of defensive snaps during his tenure in Miami ultimately led to his release during the team’s initial 53-man roster cuts.
Looking Ahead
As Tindall continues his journey through NFL tryouts, the young linebacker remains hopeful about his future in professional football. With his experience and determination, he aims to prove his worth to potential teams looking to bolster their linebacker corps. Only time will tell if Tindall will find a new opportunity in the league, but his recent workouts demonstrate his commitment to making a successful return.
