Quinn Priester’s Unstoppable Streak Fuels Brewers to New Heights

Quinn Priester is proving to be an undeniable force on the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers. Since joining the team, his presence has translated into an impressive winning streak that has now etched its name into the franchise’s record books.

On Friday night, the Brewers secured a 5-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates, with Priester earning the win. This triumph marked a significant milestone: Priester has now won his last 11 decisions, setting a new franchise record for the Brewers, as reported by MLB.com. He officially eclipsed a long-standing joint record held by Chris Bosio and Cal Eldred, who each recorded ten consecutive winning decisions back in 1992. It took 33 years for Priester to surpass this benchmark, but he has done so with remarkable consistency.

“Honestly, that [personal] streak was kind of following me around because there were a couple of no-decisions along the way,” Priester shared with reporters post-game. “I’m very proud of that because it means I’ve been doing things well, or at least well enough. But I’m kind of glad that’s kind of done and we move on. And everyone’s goal in here should be to win 100 games this year.”

A Streak to Remember

Beyond his personal achievements, Priester’s impact on the team is even more profound. The Brewers have now won 17 consecutive games with him on the mound, which includes 14 starts and three appearances as a bulk reliever following an opener. This remarkable stretch exemplifies the confidence that the Brewers have in Priester—a player they acquired in April from Boston’s Triple-A roster.

Initially, there were questions about whether Priester would fulfill his potential. With a solid prospect pedigree, expectations were high, but doubts lingered as he faced challenges early in his career. Now, having found his rhythm, he is not only meeting those expectations but exceeding them. The Brewers are eager to hand him the baseball every fifth day, and it’s evident that he has become an integral part of their success.

Looking Ahead

As the Brewers continue their quest for success, Priester’s contributions will be pivotal. The team’s aspirations for a 100-win season are ambitious, but with Priester at the helm, they are more than just a dream. His ability to perform under pressure and lead the pitching staff will be crucial as they push towards the postseason. For now, the Brewers celebrate both Priester’s individual accomplishments and the collective success that his performances have brought to the franchise.
